Foundation presents the ActNOW: Community Health Education Forum titled: ‘Prevention – Prevention & Intervention Through a Plant-Based Diet’.\nJoin us with our guest speakers Dr. Ricardo Parker & Dr. Patric Schiltz as we talk black equity, benefits of research clinical trials, and how a plant-based diet can build your immune system.\nThe G.R.E.E.N Foundation’s (TGF) mission is to work with other outstanding organizations and individuals! This is an outstanding opportunity to learn about the African American / Black and African community. Learn how to debunk the myth about the “hard-to-reach”.\nJoin the conversation to learn how to reach all communities. It will be the best 1.5 hours investment of your time.\n\nEVENT DESCRIPTION:\nIn our 15th year of community health education- this year, we launch our community forum platform with the same commitment of excellence. Our goal is to share and empower individuals to participate in healthier lifestyles while advocating to dismantle racial disparities in access to quality health information.\nThis year, community health education forum will include presentations focused both on plant-based nutrition, as well as scientific research from a cultural perspective with a legacy mindset. Both presentations will provide a deeper dive into the respective topics and allow for interactive discussion leading to a call to action.\nPRESENTERS:\nRicardo Parker, Ph.D.\nDr. Ricardo Parker is an Associate Professor and Academic Program Director for Bachelor of Science in Allied Health at the National University (Costa Mesa, CA campus) School of Health Professions. Dr. Parker holds his PhD in Microbiology from Oregon State University and completed his Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland within the Laboratory of Tumor Immunology and Biology, and in the Medicine Branch, Clinical Oncology Program. He has led a career in biotechnology and clinical cancer research studying the molecular biology of cancer and frug resistance.\nPatric Schiltz, Ph.D.\nDr. Patric Schiltz is a Professor and Academic Program Director for Master of Science in Health Informatics at the National University (Costa Mesa, CA campus) School of Health Professions. Dr. Schiltz is a Howard University alumnus having earned their PhD in Anatomy.
